Gerard Gené graduated in Law from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2007-2011). He holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Legal Practice from the IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2011-2012) as well as a Master’s Degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences taught jointly by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Universitat de Barcelona (2016-2017). He has completed a Postgraduate Specialisation Course in Criminal Compliance from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (2016).
Since he started his professional activity as a lawyer in 2012, Gerard specialised in Criminal Law, in general, and in Economic Criminal Law, in particular, the fields to which he has devoted himself exclusively. In this endeavour, he has defended the interests of both natural and legal persons, both public and private, in all kinds of legal proceedings throughout the national territory. In the teaching field, Gerard has collaborated as a guest lecturer in the Master’s Degree in Professional Legal Practice at the Universitat Abat Oliva. Among other distinctions, he has been awarded, ex aequo, with the D. Pedro Martín García 2018 Memorial Prize from the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB) for his work “De la cosa juzgada en el orden penal y su conjugación con el delito continuado” (Of res judicata in the penal order and its conjugation with the continued crime).
